2025 Summer Internships

Springville Center for the Arts is a growing multi-arts center located in a rural community in Western New York State. We offer a wide range of programs including concerts, theater productions, gallery exhibits, workshops, summer programs for children, and large-scale community events. SCA’s mission is to build a culture of appreciation for the arts and foster creative inspiration through diverse opportunities for artistic engagement.

Theater Internship Application

Visual Arts Internship Application

We are seeking interns for Visual Arts and Theater. Undergraduate college students who are studying arts education, fine arts, public art, theater, technical theater, design, music education, or similar are all encouraged to apply!

The internship program begins Memorial Day weekend and ends mid-August. Interns receive a stipend of $250 per week.

You will be living with other theater and visual arts interns in a large house located directly next to the Center, only a block from Main Street. The area is extremely walkable, with restaurants, coffee shops, library, movie theater, parks, and shops all located within a couple blocks. We also have bicycles for intern use.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITES

Events: Assist with large-scale multi-arts events like the annual Art Crawl
Summer Camps: Develop lesson plans and teach summer workshops for kids in grades Pre-K through 12 based on your interests
Public Art Corps: Supervise the group of teens we hire each year to paint murals around Springville. Manage the group, help design murals, and participate in painting the murals. (Visual Arts Interns)
Theater Productions: Produce and direct 1-2 junior musicals with 25 to 30 elementary students (Lil’ SLAM) and a full-scale musical with local high school and college students (SLAM); schedule and run musical rehearsals; create and build sets for theater productions. (Theater Interns)

REQUIREMENTS

Be an undergraduate student in a arts education, fine arts, public art, theater, technical theater, design, dance, music education, or similar program
Comfort teaching, directing, and leading children in a workshop or production setting
Intrinsic motivation with a strong passion for the arts
Collaborative skills and ability to work alongside fellow interns, SCA staff members, and the community
Open mindedness and willingness to learn
