SUMMARY:End of Summer Blowout Event -  - 17 Aug 13 19:00
DESCRIPTION:Summer programs at Springville Center for the Arts will come to
  a conclusion\, Saturday\, August 17 with a mash of arts events ground int
 o one evening. The program begins with a children's' art reception at Arts
  Underground\, 66 East Main Street at 6pm. Students\, grades 3-8\, worked 
 with a variety of artists and created paintings\, sculptural designs of th
 e arts center\, baskets and more that will be on display. Refreshments wil
 l be provided.\n\nAt 7pm\, the event moves to the main theater space as th
 e SCA Summer Theater Interns will perform Louder\, I Can't Hear You\, wri
 tten by Bill Gleason. This is the final event featuring the five performer
 s and educators who came to Springville from a variety of colleges to work
  with area youth. Louder is a family-appropriate short comedy about an a
 ll too familiar aspect of life\, people not listening. This will be follow
 ed by a screening of a short film made by the film camp that stars the int
 erns and Julie Noeson. Several short animations from the Stop Motion &amp\
 ; Sound Design camps will be screened as well.\n\nThe program culminates i
 n an 8pm screening of The Cameraman starring Buster Keaton where he plays 
 a clumsy cameraman trying to gain the affection of a woman working at MGM 
 studios. The 1928 silent film will feature live accompaniment by Robert Br
 uce\, an international touring artist with numerous publications and recor
 dings to his credit. The admission price is $5 payable at the door.\n\nThe
 se programs were made possible through partnership with Springville Youth 
 Incorporated and sponsored by M&amp\;T Bank and New York State Council on 
 the Arts.
