Enchanted Perception is a diary of Koury’s personal journey with nature and the world around her. Each piece expresses a unique conversation with her subject as she discovers and communicates the beauty of the moment. Through her paintings and drawings, her work evokes atmosphere and acknowledges nature’s fragility, resiliency, and rebirth. Using color, shapes, and brushwork, she captures the emotional energy of life – from fluid water able to powerfully shape the landscape, children playing within it, clouds heralding a storm or gentle rain, and the warmth of dancing light through the seasons. Enchanted Perception causes the viewer to pause and experience the energy within our environment. Koury hopes to inspire the preservation of nature and humanity’s interpersonal relationship with it.
