The Buffalo Society of Artists Catalogue Exhibition is flagship annual juried art show hosted by one of the country’s oldest continually operating arts organizations. It features contemporary regional works across diverse media created by its exhibiting members, competing for awards. The 130th Catalogue Exhibition celebrating the 135th year of the Buffalo Society of Artists is juried by Ellen Owens who is the Executive Director at the American Visionary Museum. Please join us for the opening on October 9th with awards held at 7 pm.

The NY and CA Chapters of VIEW FINDERS, curated by Bonita Chimes, will be presenting their photographic interpretation of “Shades of Gray.” All photographs have been taken as viewed “through the lens” and have not been digitally manipulated. VIEW FINDERS, established in 1994, has been an on-going adventurous group of amateur and professional photographers throughout WNY and in Northern CA. This is their 24th consecutive show.

Organic and found object windchime workshop. Explore a variety of organic and man-made materials to create a-one-of-a-kind kinetic sculpture. Materials provided, but if you’ve been saving something for a rainy day, today is that day! With Stacey Lechevet.

Discover the ancient art of indigo resist dyeing as you fold, bind, and transform plain cotton into unique patterns dyed in brilliant blues. Led by Mary Hermans of Nexus Botanical Arts, this hands-on workshop introduces you to the basics of resist dyeing, with all supplies provided.

Author P.A. Kane will discuss his latest book, Larry Plumb Is Still Here, and the events that led him to become a writer. P.A. Kane is the author of three novels and a book of essays.

A weekly evening of jazz standards from the 40’s to the present, selections from the Great American Songbook, and a touch of Latin too.  With a rotating group of musicians.

Transform cotton fabric into a work of art using stencils, stamps, brushes, blocks, and your own creativity. Led by Mary Hermans of Nexus Botanical Arts, you’ll play with paints and pigments made from plants to create layers of color, texture, and pattern.

SCA is seeking work for Petit Noel, a combination art show and sale. Fine wares created by local artists and artisans will be on display and available for purchase at Art’s Cafe during the holiday season. Pieces should be small and easily giftable.
